Rosemarie Ahono

Rosemarie was born in a family with talent. Her discovery of drawing was when she was asked to draw a cabbage cut into half in school. After her high school she took a course in tailoring just to please her parents however at the same time she did sketching. After working for some time Ahono decided to pursue a two years course on Art and Craft, where she developed an interest in tie and dye, bead working and sewing. This time she decided to become a full time artist. Artists such as Salvador Dali, Paul Reuben's and her brother, well known Patrick Mukabi, were her source of inspiration. Rosemarie's paintings and composition are mostly human figures on cultural settings. She does mostly portraits and likes to observe the different cultures in Kenya.
